Planned Road Work for Mid-Missouri

April 13 - 19, 2026

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid–Missouri area April 13 - 19, 2026. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.        

All Counties 

In addition to the work listed below, other moving operations such as pothole patching, brush cuttingstriping, and pavement repairs continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment. 

All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change. 

Boone County  

U.S. Route 63 – Bridge maintenance planned April 13 - 16 over Gans Creeknorthbound onlyOne northbound lane will remain open through the work zone.  

Conley Road – CLOSED at the intersection of Business Loop 70 for construction of a roundabout. A signed detour directs motorists around the closure. The new intersection is expected to open by the end of May 2026.** 

U.S. Route 63  Interchange improvements at Route AC (Grindstone Parkway) continue. This project is scheduled to continue through November 2026. More information: www.modot.org/projects/63ACInterchange. 

  • New Haven Road CLOSED through early June from just east of the northbound U.S. Route 63 on- and off-ramps to Lenoir Street. 
  • Lemone Industrial Boulevard CLOSED through early June where it joins New Haven Road. 

I-70 Drive Southeast – CLOSED from just west of Woodridge Drive to Glenstone Drive for construction of a new underpass. The entrance to Woodridge Drive from I-70 Drive Southeast is also closed. A signed detour directs motorists around the closure. The roadway is expected to reopen in January 2027.** 

St. Charles Road – Bridge construction continues over I-70. The on- and off-ramps at this overpass (Exit 131) will remain open, and a signed detour will be in place. The new bridge is expected to open in September 2026.** 

North Outer Road 70 – CLOSED at Cedar Creek, west of Callaway County Route J (near mile marker 136.6). There is no designated detour, but advanced signing will alert motorists to use an alternate route for the duration of the closure, which is expected through January 2027. ** 

Interstate 70 – New pavement construction from west of St. Charles Road (near mile marker 130) to the Callaway County line (near mile marker 136). Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. ** 

Callaway County 

Route FF – Pothole patching planned April 13. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route C – Pothole patching planned April 14 – 16 in multiple locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

North Outer Road 70 – CLOSED at Cedar Creek, west of Route J (near mile marker 136.6). There is no designated detour, but signs arlocated ahead of the closure to alert motorist to use an alternate route for the duration of the closure, which is expected through January 2027. ** 

I-70 – New pavement construction continues from Route M (near mile marker 144) to Kingdom City (near mile marker 148)Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. ** 

Camden County 

U.S. Route 54 – Pavement widening and driveway entrance improvements continue in Camdenton. Traffic is shifted between Business Route 5 and Bumper Hill Road, with one lane open in each direction, but no center turn lane. The traffic shift is expected to remain in place through spring 2026.  

Cole County 

Bolivar Street – CLOSED over U.S. Route 50 for a bridge rehabilitation projectMotorists will need to use an alternate route. Th bridge is expected to reopen to traffic in mid-August. 

Cooper County 

I-70 – Median work for new pavement construction continues from Missouri Route 5 in Boonville (mile marker 101) to the Missouri River Bridge at Rocheport (mile marker 115)Motorists can expect intermittent overnight lane closures in both directions between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. with an 11-foot width restriction. This portion of the Improve I-70 Program has an overall completion date in 2027. ** 

Crawford County 

Missouri Route 8 – Pothole patching planned April 13 - 16 from Missouri Route 19 to Route T. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Routes WW and ZZ – Pothole patching planned April 13 - 16. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. 

Dent County 

Route 19 – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue in the city limits of Salem. Minimal traffic impacts are expected during the project which is expected to be completed by September 2026. 

Route B – CLOSED at the bridge over Dry Creek due to deterioration near one of the supporting structures. Motorists may use Missouri Routes 19, 32 and 72 as detour routes around the closure. A project to replace the bridge is scheduled to be completed this year.  

Howard County 

Route P – Pothole patching planned April 13 - 16 from Edwards Street in New Franklin to Missouri Route 240. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Laclede County 

Route N – CLOSED for culvert replacements in multiple locations, April 13 – 15, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. All properties will be accessible to local residents, but through traffic will need to seek an alternate route. 

Route OF – Pothole patching planned April 13 - 16. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route O – Shoulder work planned April 13 - 16. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Maries County 

Route M – Culvert replacements planned April 13 - 16. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. 

Missouri Route 42 – CLOSED for a bridge deck replacement project over the Maries River. A signed detour is in place to direct motorist around the closure. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026. (The Fly Creek Bridge on Route 42 will close soon after the Maries River Bridge reopens. The Fly Creek Bridge will remain closed through August 2026.) 

Miller County 

Route EE – Culvert replacement planned April 13 - 16 at Rodeo Drive. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route Y – Culvert replacement planned April 13 - 16 at Freeman Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Phelps County 

Route BB – Culvert replacement planned April 13 - 16 at County Road 3130. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route 72 – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue in Rolla. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in April 2026. 

Route J – CLOSED for bridge rehabilitation over I-44. The on- and off-ramps at this overpass (Exit 169) will remain open and a signed detour will be in place. The project is scheduled for completion in June 2026. 

Business Loop 44/Route 72/Kingshighway – Bridge rehabilitation project over I-44 continues, one eastbound lane will remain open. The bridge is CLOSED to all westbound traffic, and a signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2026. 

County Road 8490 (Sugar Creek Road) – CLOSED for bridge rehabilitation over I-44. The on- and off-ramps at this overpass (Exit 176) will remain open and a signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026. 

Pulaski County 

Missouri Route 17 – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue in Waynesville from Summit Avenue to Lynn Street. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in April 2026. 

I-44  A pavement widening project from just east of Exit 156 in Waynesville to Exit 159 in St. Robert is underwayMotorists can expect intermittent nighttime lane closures in both directions and intermittent daytime rolling roadblocks and ramp closures from Exit 169 to Exit 150. The project has an overall completion date in 2027. 

Washington County 

Routes CC and E – Pothole patching planned April 13 - 16. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. 

Route 8 – Bridge rehabilitation over the Union Pacific Railroad. The roadway will remain open throughout the project but is narrowed to one lane. Motorists should expect delays. 

Route T – Culvert rehabilitation at Big Indian Creek near Potosi continues. Minimal traffic impacts are expected during the project which is expected to be completed by July 1, 2026.
